InvestYoung Awards Ceremony Inspires Secondary School Students
Mississauga, ON - 31 July 2009 -- On May 15th, high school students and teachers gathered at Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School for the InvestYoung Annual Awards Ceremony. The ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of participants of the Investors of Tomorrow programme, including awards to the top twenty participants of the InvestYoung Stock Competition, the winner of the InvestYoung National Leadership Award, as well as two Awards of Merit. Students were also inspired by our guest speaker Peter Yien, partner at Deloitte. Yien provoked students to plan ahead, learn from their mistakes, and embrace opportunities. He also described his career as a Chartered Accountant.
Each year Investors of Tomorrow awards the InvestYoung National Leadership Award to a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership, academics and community involvement. The recipient of the award is granted a $500 scholarship and an opportunity to serve on the Investors of Tomorrow National Team.
Zan Zhang from Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School was the 2009 winner of the InvestYoung National Leadership Award.
